St Aloysius holds ‘Climate Change Awareness’ Program
Protecting ecosystems for a better future should be a top priority: Mark Richard Pereira
Mangaluru: Team Havamana from the Department of Journalism at St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University) organized a PR event on “Climate Change Awareness” on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at D.K.P.Z.P.H.P. School, Ullaibettu.
Chief Guest of the Program, Mark Richard Pereira, spoke about global warming and its impact. ”Global warming has impacted today’s world, and the increased temperature has led to many ecological problems.“.
“Deforestation due to urbanization is one of the main reasons for the consequences that humans are facing. The importance of planting trees to protect the ecosystem and for a better future for all should be the top priority. The importance of reducing plastic usage, proper disposal of plastic waste, and recycling of plastic are some ways to protect the environment,” he added.
Primary students were involved in an interactive session and put forward their thoughts and ideas regarding climate change.
Wencita Dias compered the program, and Darwin Alwaris proposed the vote of thanks. Gangadhar, Headmaster, Moulana Azad English Medium School, Janet Roche, Headmistress of D.K.Z.P.H.P. School, and Chethan Koppa, teacher of the school, were present. Organizers Ancita D’Costa, Riona Alita D’Souza, and Vinay Sudheendra were also present.
