St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) Launches AICTE-Approved B.Tech Programs Under New School of Engineering

Mangaluru, May 12, 2025 — In a landmark development, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru — a premier institution with 145 years of academic excellence — proudly announces the launch of its School of Engineering, introducing four full-time AICTE-approved B.Tech programs starting from the academic year 2025–26.

Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, stated: “This is a defining moment in our history. Our foray into engineering education reflects our commitment to respond to the evolving educational needs of society. We aim to deliver technical education rooted in excellence, ethics, and innovation.”

With the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University will now offer the following cutting-edge undergraduate engineering programs:

  • B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering
  • B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)
  • B.Tech in Information Science and Engineering
  • B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering

These programs will be hosted at the University’s Main Campus at Light House Hill Road, Mangaluru, known for its academic vibrancy and tranquil setting.

To facilitate this ambitious expansion, a state-of-the-art seven-storey engineering building is nearing completion. The facility will feature hi-tech laboratories, smart classrooms, innovation and research centres, and collaborative learning spaces, offering students a world-class educational environment.

The School of Engineering will be led by an accomplished faculty team focused on academic excellence, industry integration, and holistic student development. The aim is to equip students not only for successful professional careers but also for leadership roles in an ever-evolving technological world.

This announcement comes on the heels of another major achievement — NAAC A++ accreditation, one of the highest recognitions granted to a deemed university in India.
