Mangaluru: These powerful words perfectly reflected the spirit of the occasion as St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, warmly welcomed its new batch of students during the First-Year Student Assembly for the academic year 2025–2026. The assembly was held across two days:

  • Monday, June 23, 2025 – for BCom and BBA students
  • Tuesday, June 24, 2025 – for BA, BSc, and BCA students

Held in a warm and vibrant atmosphere, the event marked the beginning of an exciting journey for first-year students—a chapter filled with new friendships, enriching experiences, and opportunities for personal growth. Students and their parents participated enthusiastically, eager to become a part of the Agnesian family.

The programme began with a soulful prayer led by the College Choir, followed by a graceful welcome dance by Ms Sneha and team, setting the tone for the day.
Mrs Chethana, Dean of Commerce and Management, extended a warm welcome, making students and parents feel at home.

The Lighting of the Lamp by the dignitaries symbolized knowledge, enlightenment, and new beginnings.

A special highlight of the event was the Alumni Interaction session with Ms Rhea Lilia Sequeira and Ms Privy D’Souza, who shared their inspiring journeys and encouraged students to embrace both academic excellence and extracurricular involvement.

Principal Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C. addressed the gathering with her signature blend of wisdom and warmth, motivating students to make the most of their time at the college.
Mrs Shanthi Nazareth, Dean of Administration, spoke on the core values and discipline upheld by the institution, clearly outlining the expectations and standards of the college.

One of the proudest moments of the day was the presentation of the Mother Veronica Merit Scholarships to 98 deserving students who secured above 90% in the II PU Examination held in March 2025—a fitting recognition of their dedication and hard work.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks and the singing of the College Anthem, leaving the new Agnesians feeling inspired, confident, and ready to begin a vibrant academic journey.

This First-Year Assembly was truly a celebration of new beginnings, hope, and promise—a launchpad for the bright future that lies ahead for the newest members of the Agnesian community.
