Solemn Celebration of the Lord’s Supper at Our Lady of Miracles Church, Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The Mass of the Lord’s Supper was solemnly celebrated at Our Lady of Miracles Church, Milagres, Mangalore, marking the beginning of the Paschal Triduum. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, officiated the service with deep reverence and devotion.

V. Rev. Fr Victor George D’Souza, Chancellor of the Diocese of Mangalore, delivered a meaningful and practical homily, emphasizing the Eucharist as the treasure of the Church. He highlighted how the Eucharist nourishes the Church and strengthens the faithful in their commitment.

A symbolic and touching moment of the celebration was the washing of the feet, where Fr Bonaventure washed the feet of twelve parishioners representing various categories of the community. He also extended this act of humility by washing the feet of a few sick individuals present among the congregation.

Following the Mass, Fr Uday Fernandez led the adoration, encouraging the faithful to reflect on their personal disposition toward the Eucharist. The entire celebration witnessed the participation of around 2,000 faithful, including the priests of Milagres Church.

The melodious choir added a spiritual depth to the service, inspiring the congregation to contemplate the immense love of Jesus Christ on this significant day.
