Red Colour Day at Mount Carmel: A Joyful Learning Fiesta
Mangaluru, June 25, 2025: The Nursery section of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, came alive with vibrant hues as it celebrated Red Colour Day on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The lively event offered a joyful and meaningful learning experience for the young Carmelites, helping them identify and appreciate the primary colour red in a fun and interactive manner.
The little ones arrived dressed adorably in red, bringing a burst of colour and cheer to the campus. Their classrooms were beautifully adorned with red-themed items such as apples, tomatoes, strawberries, cars, and balls—creating an inviting and festive atmosphere that instantly captured their attention.
The day began with a short prayer and a melodious prayer song, setting a calm and positive tone. The facilitators introduced the colour red through engaging discussions and visual aids. A surprise box activity added excitement as children eagerly explored and identified various red objects hidden inside. They also learned a cheerful red colour song, adding rhythm and joy to the experience.
























Teacher Pramila spoke about the red apple and demonstrated the steps to eat it properly—washing, wiping, peeling, slicing, and enjoying it. Teacher Clara captivated the children with a presentation on the red fire engine, explaining its role in emergencies and sparking curiosity and wonder. Teacher Sonali highlighted the beauty of the red hibiscus and led the children outdoors to observe red elements in nature, reinforcing their understanding through real-world exploration.
To deepen their learning, the children engaged in a variety of hands-on activities including tearing, crushing, and palm printing—each centered around the colour red.
The celebration was a delightful blend of fun and learning, leaving the young Carmelites with bright smiles and a vivid impression of the colour red.
