Pope Francis, the Great Leader Who Advocated for Environmental Concern and World Peace: Press Club President P.B. Harish Rai Offers Condolences

Mangaluru: While many may overlook the words of political leaders and social reformers, religious leaders often have a profound influence, inspiring people to listen and embrace change.
Pope Francis, though primarily a leader of the global Christian community, stood out for his powerful advocacy for world peace and environmental protection.

Speaking at the memorial event for Pope Francis, organized under the leadership of Raymond D’Cunha Taccode of the Pingara organization, P.B. Harish Rai, President of the Press Club, delivered the keynote address at a meeting held at the Bishop House Church building.

Dr. Suresh Negalaguli, Superintendent and Ayurvedic Doctor at Kanchur Ayurveda Hospital, remarked that religious leaders who uphold lofty ideals such as “Speak the truth, follow righteousness” transcend all religious and political leadership.

Mohammed Mohsin, Editor of Anupama Monthly magazine, noted that Pope Francis will be remembered for his firm and unwavering voice against war and violence.

Raymond D’Cunha Taccode shared that Pope Francis, who belonged to the Jesuit order—the same tradition as the priests of St. Aloysius College—emerged as a spiritual leader for Christians across all denominations worldwide. “It is a divine blessing to have had his guidance. His loss is deeply painful,” he said, expressing deep emotion.

Also present were K. Vasanth Rao, President of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka; Adolph D’Souza, Golden D’Souza, and Dolphy D’Souza, joint owners of General Engineering and Electricals.

Riana D’Cunha served as the host for the event and delivered the vote of thanks.
