PHILO VENTURA 2024, ‘SAMHARSHA’: National Level Commerce & Management Fest and Paper Presentation at St Philomena College
Puttur, May 2, 2024: The Post Graduate Department of Commerce, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted a National Level Commerce and Management Fest, PHILO VENTURA 2024, SAMHARSHA,GAME ON, OWN THE THRONE, on on April 30, 2024, at the SJM Hall of St Philomena College, Puttur. Numerous colleges participated in this prestigious event. Philo Ventura 2024 not only provided a platform for showcasing academic and managerial prowess but also highlighted the significance of perseverance and self-improvement.
Inaugurator and Chief Guest, Mr Keshava Amai, Proprietor of SRK Ladders, Puttur, spoke, emphasizing the transformation of challenges into opportunities. Drawing from his personal experiences, Mr Amai inspired the young minds to navigate through adversities with resilience and innovation.
The president of the program, Correspondent of the College, Very Rev. Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, stated that the fest creates numerous opportunities for students, enhancing their skills, and he also extended congratulations to the M.Com. Department for organizing the event.
Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, principal of the college, congratulated the students and the participants for their enthusiasm in organizing and participating in the festivals of their kind.
Dr Vijaya Kumar Moleyar, Vice Principal, extended his best wishes for the day.
The chief guest of the valedictory program was CA Aravinda Krishna. In his speech, he stated that’students of today are the future of our country. Communication and leadership skills are important for students to achieve success in their careers. Students must participate in different activities to exhibit their talents.
Shree Raga and team rendered prayer. Mr Harshith S., Coordinator of the P.G. Department of Commerce, extended a warm welcome. Student coordinator Dhanush proposed a vote of thanks. Ms Pooja, the student coordinator, was on the dais.
The valedictory session was presided over by Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of St Philomena College. In his address to the students, he emphasized that” competition is very important. Someone wins the race; someone loses the race. Winning is not about getting the first prize or beating others. It is about overcoming yourself. Those who lose the race have another chance to win; continuous hard work will help you to achieve success’’ and also expressed his pride in the competitive spirit displayed and lauded the continuous hard work of the participants. The chief guest, CA Aravind Krishna, addressed the gathering, underscoring the significant role of communication and leadership skills in shaping future professionals and encouraging students to engage actively in diverse activities to hone their talents.
The fest concluded with Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar, bagging the winners’ title and Vivekananda College, Puttur, securing the runners-up position. Staff convener Ms Pruthvi K announced the title winners.
