NCC Fest ‘Vijay 2022’ organized at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru

Mangaluru: St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized Vijay 2022, an Annual NCC Fest to celebrate the unity and discipline of NCC Cadets on1 June 2022.

The fest was inaugurated by the Chief guest Col N.R. Bhide Commanding Officer 18Karnataka  Batallion NCC Mangaluru and was presided by Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C. the Principal, Lt. Gayathri B.K., ANO Army Wing and Flg. Officer Dr Hitakshi B.,  ANO Air wing were also present.

On the occasion Col. N. R. Bhide spoke about the NCC Alumni Association of ex- Cadets and its selfless motive to guide and help the cadets with career development and informed the gathering about Digital Forum of NCC which is made compulsory for all to register. He urged everyone to use this digital platform to express themselves. He also enlightened the audience about NCC being introduced as part of the curriculum under the NEP syllabus where the Cadets will study it as a subject and would no longer be a mere weekend activity. He listed out the various upcoming Camps, training, Exams and career opportunities in NCC and called the Cadets to make best use of these opportunities.

“To be successful in life there are 3 essentials in life one must follow. Good habits, how driven we are which helps individual to be better person and our attitude towards life”, said Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C., the Principal.

Lt. Gayathri B.K. welcomed the gathering and Dr Hitakshi B., Flg. Officer, expressed words of gratitude.

The College NCC wings organised various competitions as part of the Fest viz Square- Bashing Trial (Drill test), Pratima Nirmaan (Model Making Competition), Ball is in your court (Stress Interview) and Kaushal Kalakaar (Talent hunt). Cadets from eight colleges participated in the events.

The Fest concluded with the Valedictory Programme. Col. Amitabh Singh, Administrative Officer, 18Karnataka Battallion Mangaluru was the Chief Guest and Sr Clara A.C. , the Vice Principal presided over the programme. Col. Amitabh, opined that if each NCC cadet attends camp and also revises the syllabus, it won’t be difficult to achieve the set goal. The Fest concluded with the announcement of winners. The overall Championship was won by SDM College, Ujire and Excellent College, Moodabidri won the Runners Up Trophy.
