National Unity Day 2023, organised by the Student Council: Celebrating Unity in Diversity, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Legacy
Puttur November 2: In a remarkable commemoration of National Unity Day, the Student Council of St Philomena College came together to celebrate the spirit of unity, diversity, and the indomitable legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31, 2023. The program began with a floral tribute to the portrait of Sardar Patel, which added a touch of grace to the proceedings.
The event culminated with profound presidential remarks by the principal of the college, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro. The principal’s address was nothing short of inspiring, as he emphasized the significance of unity in diversity, a core principle that has always been at the heart of the identity of India. His words resonated with the audience as he took them on a journey through history, recalling Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s pivotal contribution to unifying the princely states into the Indian Union.
