Mount Carmel primary section celebrates spritely Christmas
Mangaluru: The festival of joy and sharing was celebrated at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru for the students of grade I to V on December 23rd in the school auditorium.
The programme was organized by the students of grade V A, C and D. The chief guest of the programme was our own beloved teacher Helen Menezes.
The ceremony began with a prayer song. The chief guest and the audience was accorded a warm welcome through a rhythmic dance followed by a welcome speech by Nidhi, Aditya and Iksha. The students then performed various items one after the other like carol singing, skit depicting the birth of Christ followed by a celebration dance wishing everyone the joy of Christmas.
The chief guest teacher Helen in her speech encouraged the students to make small efforts to imbibe the values of sharing and caring, and become the ambassadors of peace and love. She also made it clear that Christmas isn’t Christmas till it happens in our heart.
The winners of various competitions held at school were felicitated by the chief guest and Sr Meena. The programme culminated with a vote of thanks extended by Adhya, Kian, Bhavika and Venetia. The celebration ended with a mass dance to the tune of Jingle Bells.
The delightful celebration also included children bringing kuswar, sweets and sharing the merriment together with their friends in the classrooms.
