Mount Carmel Central School organizes “Prospective Resource Persons programme on NEP-2020”

Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru in association with CBSE-COE Bengaluru and Karavali Sahodaya organised a one day seminar on Prospective Resource Persons programme on NEP 2020 for the Principals and teachers of CBSE schools on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 in the school auditorium. Around 50 participants from Bengaluru, Mysore, Bellari, Bijapur, Hubli, Hassan, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada etc attended the seminar. The day commenced with a prayer song invoking God’s presence followed by a traditional welcome dance performed by the students of Mount Carmel. The resource persons for the day were Ms. A.N Suryavathi, Principal of Harvest International School, Bengaluru and Mr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Principal of Vibgyor High School, Bengaluru. Sr. Melissa, Principal of the host school accorded a warm welcome to all the participants. The seminar was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries.

The session started with a short video followed by an activity whereby the personal  perspective about  the  meaning of education and the need to identify the inherent abilities of children beyond their academic marks was highlighted.

As the day progressed, various aspects of NEP 2020 and its implementation in the curriculum were discussed which was reinforced by group discussions, activities and presentations. Sessions on early childhood care and education, holistic development of learners, reducing drop-out rates in schools, empowerment of teachers etc were quite interactive and enabled the exchange of innovative ideas among the participants.

Through all the sessions, it was emphasised that NEP aims at making education well rounded, fulfilling and useful to the learners and to create individuals who are compassionate, ethical and rooted to our tradition.

The session concluded with two of the participants Mr. James and Ms. Meethali Archit sharing their experiences about the day and thanking the resource persons for the very informative sessions. Ms Ananya Sneha compeered the inaugural programme while Ms Priyanka, the valedictory ceremony.  The day ended with singing the National Anthem.
