Mount Carmel Central School Organises Farewell Programme 2024
Mangaluru: February 3, 2024, was a day filled with emotions and sentiments to bid farewell to the students of Grades X and XII of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru. The day began with the Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration, and the outgoing students participated devoutly in it. Rev. Fr Rudolf Pinto OCD, in his homily, advised the students to be grateful to God and their alma mater and never to let down the school and the teachers in any way, but to give them joy by leading a good life.
The farewell programme in the auditorium began with the welcome of the students in grades X and XII with an Irish tap dance. Grade IX and XI students hosted the programme, which began by invoking the divine. It was a devout ceremony wherein student representatives of grades X and XII, their mentors, and the Principal, administrator and vice principal came forward to light the lamp, symbolising wisdom and knowledge. The outgoing students were then led in an oath-taking ceremony by the Principal Sr Melissa. The students of Grade IX welcomed the gathering formally through a welcome dance and a welcome speech delivered by Kimberly DSouza and Krislyn Fernandes. A short programme to cherish their memories of growing up in this great institution was displayed through a PPT presentation and a group song. The programme was emceed by Ananya Monteiro and Lenn Tauro. Head Girl Anvilla DSouza of grade X and Thaneesha of grade XII reminisced about their experiences in school and how the institution helped them grow and be what they are today. Head Boy Siddarth Shetty of grade XII delivered the vote of thanks and, along with Anvila, handed over a burst to the school as a token of love and gratitude.
The Administrator Sr. Carissima, motivated the students to keep up with the ethos and values of the Alma Mater. Sr. Melissa, the principal, advised the students in her message to stay true to the institution’s motto, ‘Higher and Nobler’. She further wished them well to bloom in life with the blessings of the Almighty, parents, and mentors. The teachers handed over a memento to the students in grades X and XII. The programme ended with a fellowship meal.
