Milagres Church Observes the Passion of Christ with Solemn Devotion
Mangaluru, April 14: The parishioners of Milagres Church, Mangalore, gathered in solemn devotion to meditate on the Passion and suffering of Lord Jesus Christ, marking the beginning of Holy Week.
The Eucharistic celebration was led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth. This was followed by a deeply moving procession around the church premises, during which the faithful sang hymns and reflected on the Passion of the Lord.
In his poignant homily, Fr Gerald Pinto emphasized the significance of Christ’s suffering, drawing parallels with the human experience of pain and sacrifice. He urged the faithful to accept their own sufferings with submission, looking to Jesus and the Blessed Mother as the perfect models of surrender and grace.

The procession was prayerfully initiated by the members of the Parish Pastoral Parishad, with the presence and support of the Milagres clergy—Fr Michael, Fr Uday, and Fr Robin—adding to the spiritual atmosphere.
As part of the Holy Week observances, the parish has also arranged for the Sacrament of Reconciliation from Monday to Wednesday during the forenoon, and a retreat in the afternoon.
