MCC Bank Pays Tribute to His Holiness Pope Francis
Mangaluru, April 24, 2025: MCC Bank organized a solemn gathering of its Board of Directors and staff members at the Administrative Office to pay tribute to His Holiness Pope Francis.
The program commenced with a prayer song rendered by Mrs. Karen Crasta and her team.
Rev. Fr Faustine Lobo, the designated Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, graced the occasion with his presence. He joined the gathering in paying homage to the noble soul of His Holiness Pope Francis. Recalling his personal interactions with the Pontiff on several occasions, Rev. Fr Faustine described Pope Francis as the “Voice of the Voiceless.” He highlighted the Pope’s vision of Jesus Christ, not in grandeur, but in the poor and the marginalized. He emphasized that Pope Francis truly walked in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, leading a simple and humble life.

Fr Lobo noted that Pope Francis was a progressive leader who worked to eliminate outdated practices and was deeply compassionate towards the suffering of humanity caused by wars and conflicts. A strong advocate of interreligious harmony, the Pope tirelessly worked for global peace and unity. Calling him a true “Vishwa Manava” (Universal Human Being), he said the world has lost a guiding light, and expressed hope that the Pope’s ideals will continue to inspire generations.
Mrs. Irene Rebello, Director of the Bank, presented an overview of Pope Francis’s life and legacy, commending his unwavering commitment to justice, simplicity, and compassion. She emphasized his efforts in abolishing archaic traditions, uplifting the underprivileged, and empowering women. She also spoke of his signature presence—a face that radiated divine grace, purity of heart, and unconditional love for humanity. She encouraged all to emulate his life of service and humility.
The Bank’s Chairman, Sahakara Ratna Mr. Anil Lobo, offered a floral tribute on behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, and customers of MCC Bank. Rev. Fr Faustine Lobo and Vice Chairman Mr. Jerald Jude D’Silva also paid their respects.
The program witnessed the participation of all Directors, staff members from the Administrative Office, and the Founders Branch.
Mr. Sunil Menezes, General Manager, delivered the vote of thanks, and the event was compered by Senior Manager Mr. Deril Lasrado.
