Maxim Francis Moras conferred with prestigious District Rajyotsava Award
Mangaluru: The 65th Karnataka Rajyotsava Day 2020 was celebrated in gaiety and tradition but in a low-key manner due to pandemic at Nehru Maidan on Sunday 1 Nov at 9 am.
Following the flag hoisting and guard of honour, the 38 recipients of Dakshina Kannada District Rajyotsava Award were honoured by District minister in charge Kota Srinivas Poojary. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, among others.
It was a proud moment for the Catholic community, among the 38 awardees was Senior Traffic Warden of Traffic Warden Organization Maxim Francis Moras, who was conferred with the prestigious award for his meticulous and committed service to the society in controlling the hectic traffic in spite of the pandemic- and Maxim is indeed a ‘ Covid 19 Warrior’ with no doubts at all.
The award consisted of a shawl, citation, fruit basket and a momento.
Speaking to media Maxim said, “I am not a person looking for any recognitions or awards when I do community service- I do it as a courtesy and gesture to the society. But when my work was appreciated and recognized by the elected leaders and dist admin officials to honour me, I happily agreed and today receiving the Award was the happiest moment of my life, and also overwhelmed being honored amidst my family members and friends. Thanks to everyone for their support and love”.
