Mangaluru: “Solo Dios Basta” echoed all over Carmel Hill on the second day of the Feast
Mangaluru, Jan, 15: Today is the second day of the feast of Infant Jesus. The day was dedicated to children and the theme was “Solo Dio Basta” the Spanish version for ‘God alone suffices’: the life theme of St. Teresa of Avila. Because God alone is the unconditional source of love and those who love him lack nothing. This theme was well explained during the homilies taking the experience of the saint’s, specially St. Teresa of Avila. It was an awesome sight to see the ocean of devotees flocking to receive the blessing of the Infant Jesus from early morning till in the evening for holy masses.
Morning 10:30 mass which was celebrated by Rt. Rev. Alwyn Beretto, Bishop of Sindudurg and the 6:00 Pm Mass by Rt. Rev. Bernard Moras, the Bishop Emeritus of Bangaluru. These two high Masses surprised us by the ocean of the devotees that climbed Carmel Hill to hear the Word made flesh, the Babe of Bethlehem. Liturgy, Choir, Spiritual ministry was well organized more than ten thousand people were served meals.
The 6 pm Choir were given standing ovation not just for the performance rather the choir following the liturgical decorum elevated the mood of the assembly and helped the people pray, said Fr. Wilfred, the Superior of the Monastery. Fr. Wilfred also thanked the priests, brothers and all the volunteers for their round the clock selfless service.
Fr. Rayan Pinto conducted the adoration. Simon the Choir Master and Alwyn D Cunha from Derebail Parish conducted the other choirs. Christy of Chris Sounds managed the Sound, Benna of Ben Electricals over saw the lighting of the venue. The Provincial of the Carmelites honoured the Bishops after the Mass.
