St Philomena College Organizes Workshop on Enhancing Industry Oriented Skills

Puttur, Sep 10: The Department of BCA of St Philomena College Puttur organized a guest lecture on ‘Aligning Skills to the Industry Requirements’ on Monday, September 4 in the college auditorium.

Senior Delivery Manager of Diya Systems (Mangalore) Pvt. Ltd Dr Melwin D’Souza participated as the resource person. In his presentation he said, “There is huge gap between industry’s expectations and available skills. IT Industries need leaders, not followers. Recently, one survey reported that in India only 7 percent of the engineering graduates are employable. Education, inspiration, dedication and flexibility plays a vital role in determining the employability of our human resource.” 
The HoD of Computer Science Mr. Vinayachandra welcomed the gathering while Assistant Professor Mrs. Varija M proposed the vote of thanks. The Assistant Professor Mrs. Geetha Poornima compered the programme.
