Mangalore: Homes to homeless project launched in Borimar

Mangalore, Oct 22: In commemoration of post centenary Silver jubilee year of St Joseph church Borimar a new project was launched here. The new project envisages building of home to the homeless of the Parish.

The Eucharistic Mass was celebrated by Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese. He blessed and laid the foundation stone of the project.

Addressing the gathering he said that small parishes like Borimar has started a great work and has become a role model for others.

Vice president Roshan Boniface Martis read the felicitation letter. The money was saved instead of burning crackers, band and other festivities and was given to Bishop to help the needy.

The Bishop appreciated parish priest, Fr Gregory Pereira, vice president and Parish Pastoral Council members for visualizing the project and the works that people have come up with.

As a token of gratitude he gave mementos to the sponsors. Breakfast was served to all after the mass. YCS students helped as volunteers to serve breakfast.
