Lourdes Central School observes Konkani Manyata Divas
Mangaluru: Konkani Manyata Divas was celebrated at Lourdes Central School on August 20, 2024, with great enthusiasm during the morning assembly. The programme began with a prayer song sung by the Konkani learning students. Melron Lobo of class VII gave the thought for the day. Jolene Saldanha of class VII highlighted the importance of Manyata Divas. The students sang a melodious Konkani song, “Konkani Ulloi Konkani Uroi.”.
Principal Rev. Fr. Johnson Sequeira, in his message, congratulated all the students learning Konkani as a third language. He also encouraged students to take part in various Konkani programmes and make the Konkani language rich. 53 students are learning Konkani in classes VI, VII, and VIII.
The principal and vice principal, Ms. Belita Mascarenhas, were present for the programe. The Konkani Quiz Competition was conducted for the Konkani learning students in classes VI, VI, and VIII. It was a day of joy for all the Konkani learning students as they participated in the programme. Jayden Pinto and Ria Virika of class VII compeered the programme.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Konkani Sir Ivan Mascarenhas. After the programme the Konkani learning students participated in the Konkani cultural competition organized by Konkani Sahitya Academy, Mangaluru at town hall.
