Lourdes Central School holds Club Culmination – 2024
Mangaluru: The Club Finale was held on March 1, 2024, at 8 a.m. on the LCS grounds. The dignitaries, Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza, Principal, Rev. Fr Lestern Lobo, Rev. Fr. Arul Joseph, Vice Principals Ms Belita Mascarenhas and Ms Anitha Thomas, and the guest of honor, Dr Shaweez Faizi, added a sparkling effect to the program.
The program commenced with invoking God’s blessings, followed by the welcome address presented by the members of the Eco Club.
The significance of the day was read out by Laya of 6B, who highlighted World Civil Defense Day. A brief report on the activities conducted during the year was presented by the members of various clubs. Members of the theater club staged a hilarious performance on the theme of classroom chaos, which was a thrilling experience. The heritage club performed a dance on the importance of the cultural heritage of our country.
Scouts, guides, cubs, and Bulbuls gave insights on the importance of exercise, kindness, reaching out and helping others, and respecting elders. The First Aid Club highlighted the importance of hand washing to remain free from illness.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. Shaweez Faizi, Diploma and Masters (OBG) from KMC Manipal, director of NOVA IVF Fertility, Mangalore branch, expressed that she was very pleased that the school has 25 clubs as part of the silver jubilee program that has given the students the opportunity to acquire skills, learn good values, and build up team spirit. She also encouraged the students to set a goal, focus on learning, discuss problems, and learn to manage their time.
The Principal, Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza, while addressing the students, said that the number of clubs should increase by one every year from now onwards, so that we can have 50 clubs during the golden jubilee year in the future. He congratulated the teacher in charge of the club finale, Ms.Chandini Chitraveer, for relentlessly working towards its success. He also congratulated the students and teachers in charge of various clubs for putting up a spectacular program giving insights into the importance of academics as well as co-curricular activities where the students develop passion for fine arts, literature, leadership, team spirit, and creative learning, which will later have a positive impact on their careers, build up good character, and serve society.
The students of class 7, Naithik Shetty and Andria, compered the program, and Nived Ragesh of class 8 expressed his feelings of gratitude. The program ended with a school anthem.
