Lourdes Central School celebrates annual day for classes 1 to 5
Mangaluru: The Annual Day of classes 1 to 5 of Lourdes Central School was celebrated with great zeal and vibrancy on Thursday, 21st of November 2024, in the School Grounds, with a medley of events from each class woven around the theme ‘Continents apart, hearts together.” The programme commenced with a melodious Prayer Song and an amazing welcome dance rendered by the students of classes 3, 4, and 5.
Vice Principal Ms Belita Mascarenhas delivered the welcome address. A Seasoned educator and a great administrator Ms. Suprabha MM., Principal Trisha evening college Mangalore, was the Chief Guest, and Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager, LCS, was the President of the function. The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira, the principal; Ms Belita Mascarenhas and Ms Anitha Thomas, the Vice principals; Rev. Fr. Norman Mathias, asst. parish priest of Bejai parish; Rev. Fr. Vincent Sequeira; Mr Ashok Pinto, Vice President; and Mrs Cynthia Avitha Pinto, Secretary, of Bejai Parish Pastoral Parishad. PTEC Secretary Ms. Shubha Jyotsna, Deputy Head Boy Ankith Reuben D’Souza, and Deputy Head Girl Ridhi Chowta.
Vice Principal Ms Belita Mascarenhas introduced the Chief Guest, and she was felicitated by Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira, and all the dignitaries on the dias.
The Principal, Rev. Fr Johnson L. Sequeira, presented the School Annual Report of the academic year 2024-25, and ma’am Anita Thomas rendered the vote of thanks.
Chief guest MS Suprabha M, addressing the gathering, thanked Lourdes Central School for the opportunity given and also thanked the contribution of Lourdes Central School in nurturing students and shaping their future. She requested parents to spend quality time with their children and to give emotional and moral support. She advised the parents to encourage their wards to develop a positive mindset and to be emotionally attached with them.
Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, the Manager, in his address wished best of luck to the students and staff of primary section and mentioned that Lourdes Central School is a happy school due to the warmth and joy of the principal, the radiant staff, excellent teamwork, and solidarity in the teacher-student parent community. Through our motto, Peace through Knowledge, we create a ray of hope for every student so that we promote social responsibility and create leaders for society and at large leaders for our nation.
The cultural bonanza began with our enthusiastic students presenting an array of cultural programmes with colourful props depicting the theme “Continents apart—hearts together.”
Asia is the largest and most populous continent, rich in diverse cultures and traditions. The fascinating journey through Japan, South Korea, the Arab world, Sri Lanka, and India—the five Vast and Vibrant Countries—was beautifully shown by the students of class 1.
Africa is a land of beauty and captivation. Its people are skilled and energetic, possessing vast knowledge of flora and fauna. Every adventurer desires to visit this place, known for its enthralling landscapes. The captivating beauty, energy, and warmth of this incredible and ENVIABLE AFRICA was depicted by the students of class 2.
From north to south, east to west, a tapestry of cultures forever at its best. Welcome to Europe! The iconic landmarks, rich history, and vibrant crossroads of culture of Europe were beautifully portrayed by Class 3 students.
The journey across two incredible continents! Navigating the melting pot of North America and the rhythmic heartbeat of South America. The hidden treasures, diverse traditions, and captivating spirit of North and South America were depicted by the students of class 4.
From the iconic Sydney Opera House to the majestic Great Barrier Reef. The land of kangaroos, koalas, and quirky wildlife—vibrant cities and stunning coastlines. A journey through diverse cultures, from Aboriginal to multicultural, where adventure meets relaxation. The fascinating world of Australian culture was beautifully depicted by the students of class 5.
The stage programme was beautifully compered by Eyan Lobo and Shravya Prabhu of class 5. The cultural program was composed by Paaravi, Joanna, Sahana, Atharv, Himani, Pradhyumna, Hrishikesh, and Arya. Programme concluded by singing the school anthem by the junior choir group of LCS.
Kudos to all the lourdites from classes 1 to 5 for their spectacular performance during the annual day.
