Lighting the Flame of Leadership: Investiture Ceremony at St. Agnes High School

Mangaluru: The Investiture Ceremony of St. Agnes High School was held on 19th June 2025 at 1:30 PM, marking a significant occasion to formally empower the newly elected student leaders.

The ceremony began with a march past by the members of the School Parliament, showcasing discipline and pride. This was followed by a meaningful prayer service, invoking divine blessings for the leaders as they stepped into their new roles.

Kadhijah extended a warm welcome to the guests and dignitaries. As a gesture of appreciation and environmental consciousness, the Headmistress Sr. Gloria A.C. welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. (Prof.) Devi Prabha, by presenting her with potted plants.

One of the most memorable moments of the event was the Oath-Taking Ceremony, administered by the Chief Guest. The cabinet members, including:

  • School Pupil Leader: Prithviraj
  • Assistant School Pupil Leader: Kashish Kunder
  • Ministers,

took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the school’s values and lead with integrity and dedication.

In a commendable display of democratic spirit, the Opposition Leader Trisha and other opposition members also took their oaths, emphasizing that every role has value and every voice matters.

Following the oath, the badges and sashes were ceremoniously presented by the Chief Guest and Headmistress to the newly appointed leaders. A touching moment followed when an Alumna of the school handed over the school flag to the student leaders, offering inspiring words and encouraging them to be torchbearers of the institution’s ideals.

Yashmitha of Class 10 formally introduced the Chief Guest, highlighting her notable achievements and dedication to the field of education and leadership.

In her keynote address, Dr. Devi Prabha used the acronyms WATCH and LEADERSHIP to convey powerful messages on values such as wisdom, action, truth, character, honesty, and empathy. Her motivational speech inspired the young leaders to view leadership not as authority, but as a responsibility of service and accountability.

The candle-lighting ceremony by the student parliament members symbolized their acceptance of responsibility and commitment to serve with dedication.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ruben Vakkayil, and the event was gracefully compered by Tanisha Ullal.
