Kuloor Church: “A Day in the Paddy Field” Organized by Catholic Sabha and ICYM
Mangaluru, June 22: The Catholic Sabha and ICYM unit of St. Anthony Church, Kuloor, jointly organized a unique and vibrant event titled “A Day in the Paddy Field” on Sunday, June 22, at the paddy fields of Mrs. Mezhi Teacher in Kuloor Melkoppala.
The program was inaugurated by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Victor Vijay Lobo, who presided over the function. Chief guests Ida Furtado, President of the Catholic Sabha Episcopal City Deanery, Winston Joel Sequeira, President of the ICYM Central Committee, and Praveen Lobo, referee from Bijai, marked the beginning of the event by ceremoniously planting paddy seedlings.
A series of fun-filled competitions were held in the muddy field, bringing energy and excitement to the day. St. Anna Ward bagged the first prize, followed by St. Anthony 3rd Ward in second place, and St. Joseph Ward securing the third prize. The dignitaries presented the winners with prizes in recognition of their spirited participation.



































Rowin D’Souza, President of the Catholic Sabha Kuloor Unit, welcomed the gathering, while Arvin Monteiro, President of ICYM, delivered the vote of thanks. The event was compered by Reema Crasta, ensuring a smooth and engaging flow throughout the program.
The event not only revived the spirit of community farming but also offered the youth and parishioners a chance to reconnect with traditional agricultural practices.
