Investiture Ceremony of Lourdes central school held
Mangaluru: The Investiture Ceremony of Lourdes central school was held on 23rd June 2022 in Bejai Church Hall at 8.30a.m. The programme began by invoking God’s blessings with a prayer song sung by the school choir.
The dignitaries Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager LCS, Rev. Fr Robert DSouza, Principal LCS, Chief Guest Mr Rishikesh Sonawane, Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada, Ms Anita Thomas Vice Principal LCS, Mr Ashok Pinto, Vice President and Ms Preethi Gomes, Secretary, Bejai Parish Pastrol Parishad graced the occasion.
Sharol Renjal of class 10B welcomed the gathering. The Investiture Ceremony was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries and student representatives.
The Principal Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza administered the oath taking ceremony.
Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager LCS, Rev Fr Robert D Souza, Principal LCS, The Chief guest Mr Rishikesh Sonawane, Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada awarded the badges to the cabinet ministers to take up their posts and responsibilities.
Ms Anita Thomas, Vice principal – LCS introduced the Chief Guest Mr Rishikesh Sonawane, Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada. Mr Rishikesh Sonawane who hails from Maharashtra is an Engineering graduate worked as a software engineer in Bengaluru and he is also the topper of IPS 2015 batch. Sports, Yoga, reading and interacting with people are his interest.
He addressed the young minds by giving importance on discipline and leadership. Discipline is not just being on time and following all the rules but it is about the systematic life style of exercising, focusing your choice or goal and achieving it through inner motivation. Another aspect he highlighted was about the leadership. To be a good leader one has to be a good team player. Identify his/her role models, follow the path and motivate oneself to become a good leader in society.
Rev. Fr Robert D Souza, Principal LCS congratulated the newly appointed school cabinet. He urged the students to think creatively and achieve something to serve the nation in the years to come.
Rev. Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Mangaer LCS in his presidential address said the participatory leadership has been taken up in the school cabinet. He added that it is very important to understand the concept of serving others and compassionate leadership is the need of the hour. The management expect the students to be such leaders. He wished good luck to the school cabinet.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Aaryan Srivastav,the head boy,of class 12 which marked the end of the session.
Nidhi Sarah John and Lauren Marian Patrao compered the programme. Mr Henry Mascarenhas was the convenor of the programme.
