Inauguration of St Philomena College NSS Camp at Patte Educational Institutions
Puttur, April 11: Mangalore University National Service Scheme, St Philomena College inaugurated its Annual Special Camp on 9 April, 2023 at Patte Educational Institutions, Badgannur, Puttur. P. Narayana Bhatt, Correspondent, Patte Educational Trust inaugurated the Camp by lighting the lamp.
The program was presided over by the principal of St Philomena College, Puttur Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro who said in his presidential remarks that “NSS camps are a link between society and students and are helpful in inculcating discipline, punctuality and responsibility among the students. The students should blend and become one with the society just like an estuary where rivers merge into the sea.”
Venugopal Bhat Patte, Chairman of the Patte Educational Institutions, Lokesh S.R Area Education Officer, Sumana B Headmistress of Pratibha High School Patte and Lingappa Gowda Modike Chairman of the School Development Committee of Sri Krishna Primary School spoke on the occasion and wished the Camp well.
NSS volunteer Chaitra and the group recited prayer. Camp officer Vasudeva N. welcomed. Volunteer Rashi Rai proposed vote of thanks. Dinakar Anchan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce compered the program..Camp Officer Pushpa N was present on the dais. Co -Camp Officers Dhanya PT and Chaitra NP welcomed the guests florally. Teaching and administrative faculty of St Philomena College, President and members of Srikrishna Yuvaka Mandala, Patte, members of Patte School Senior Students Union, members of Vaali Friends Club, Patte and more than hundred NSS volunteers participated at the inaugural ceremony.
The said camp commenced from 9 April and will continue till 15 April 2023 with the slogan ‘Yuva Shakti Rashtra Shakti’ under the caption of ‘Science and Youth for Scientific Mentalism. This camp will feature daily shramadaan by the volunteers,educational programmes, students and local village residents gathering for cultural activities .
