IGNITE 2022 – Intra Collegiate Fest organized at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru

Mangaluru: St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized “IGNITE-2022” an Intra Collegiate Fest on 28 April 2022 exclusively designed to ignite the competitive spirit amongst students.

The Inaugural Program was held in the Open Air Stage of the College. Mr Ronald Mascarenhas, Retired Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, St Agnes College was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural Programme. The Inaugural Programme began with a prayer by the College Choir. Ms Duha from the Department of B.C.A. welcomed the gathering. Prof. Ronald and Sr Carmel Rita A.C. the Administrator of the College addressed the students and encouraged the students to participate in the various events organized to test their abilities and skills. The Student Vice Presidents briefed the audience about the events to be conducted namely Horizon, Technovate, Spectrum, Comquest and Artspire. Ms Aysha Lalin Secretary of Lit-Wit Literary club proposed the vote of thanks. Also in attendance were the Vice Principal Sr Clera A.C., Dean of Arts, Ms. Shanti Nazareth, Dean of Science Ms Helen Serrao, Dean of Commerce and Management Ms Nimitha K and Student President Ms Rhea Sequeira.

After the Inaugural the students participated in their stream specific competitions.

The Department of Commerce Organised “Comquest” with the aim of preparing the students to face any future challenge they may encounters in the commerce field and to provide a platform to showcase their talents. The students participated in nine competitions conducted by the Department including Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Public Relation, Shark Tank, Business Quiz, Best Manager, Treasure Hunt and Variety Programme.

The Department of Computer Applications organized “Technovate” with the aim of helping students unleash their skills and talents. The events included Pixel (Photography), Compile (Video Editing), Idea (Presentation), Decryptor (Coding), Eureka (Treasure hunt), Digital Nomads (Best Manager), Forte Flaunt (Talent show), Terpsichore (Dance), Masterstroke (Logo Mehendi) and Brain Brawl (Quiz).

The Science fest was named ‘SPECTRUM-2022’ – “The colours that connect us all”. Altogether there were 10 competitions held by each department namely, Cluedo by the Department of Physics, Miss Element by the Department of Chemistry, Clueminate and Need for Speed by the Department of Mathematics, Lead Squad by the Department of Statistics, Creative logo design by the Department of Computer Science, Inkfluenceby the Department of Microbiology, Edutainment by the Department of Botany and Animalia Rangolia by the Department of Zoology. A common event “Atomic moves” was conducted for all students of B. Sc. wherein the students were given an opportunity to showcase their talents.

The Arts fest was named ‘Artspire- To be inspired’. There were eight teams and there were nine events conducted varying from Mock Press, Twist in a Fairy tale, Singing Competition, Mad Ad, Product Launch, Face Painting, RJ Hunt, Historia and Folk Dance Competition.

The Department of Business Administration organized “Horizon” for all students of B.B.A. and the events conducted were Quiz, Shark Tank, Human Resource Event, Best Manager Event and Variety Programme.

Students from all the streams showcased their unique talents and skills in various competitions. 

The Valedictory Programme was organized separately by each Department and the prizes were distributed to the winners of the various competitions.
