‘Honouring the Visionary of Equality ‘ Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration at Lourdes Central School, Mangaluru
Mangaluru, April 14, 2025: Lourdes Central School, Mangaluru, commemorated Ambedkar Jayanti, a day that stands as a profound tribute to the enduring ideals of equality, dignity, and justice. The celebration honoured the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of social reform.
A special morning assembly was presented by the students of Class 10, under the guidance of Mr. Henry Mascarenhas. The entire school community—including the Principal, Vice Principals, staff, and students—gathered to solemnly recite the Preamble to the Constitution, reaffirming their commitment to democratic values and social justice.
Advaith delivered a reflective passage highlighting the importance of cultivating the mind as the highest goal of human life. Tanmay, Aishwarya, and Manvi offered powerful insights into the life and work of Dr. Ambedkar, inspiring everyone with his unwavering vision for an inclusive and equitable India.
Floral tributes were offered by the institutional heads and Ms. Neema Lobo, Programme Incharge, in honour of Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy.
In his address, Principal Rev. Fr Johnson L Sequeira emphasized the importance of internalizing the values of justice, equality, and compassion. He urged the Lourdite family to be torchbearers of these principles in today’s world.
The celebration was beautifully anchored by Sanjana D Silva, whose poised compering ensured a smooth and meaningful flow of the programme.
