Feast of Our Lady of Rosary celebrated at St Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu
Mangaluru: The feast of the Our Lady of Rosary was celebrated at St Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu on October 7, 2020. Rev Fr Aquin Noronha the Parish Priest of St Dominic Church Ashoknagar presided over the Eucharistic celebration and preached a homily. In his homily Fr Noronha said that the prayer of Rosary keeps the families united. The prayer of Rosary is a very strong spiritual weapon. It has pulled down iron walls which have divided the nations and races. He called on the devotees to renew the prayer of Rosary in the families and pass on this beautiful tradition of praying Rosary to the younger generation.
After the Holy Mass five decades of glorious mysteries were prayed by singing. During the Rosary Fr Onil D’Souza the director of the Ashram invoked the intercession of Mother Mary for the removal ‘Covid 19’ because of which the world is going through a very difficult time. He asked Mother Mary to protect all those who serve the Covid patients. The other important petitions were: strength and protection for those who are going through financial crisis especially in gulf countries. One decade of Rosary was prayed specially for the unity in the families and to drive away all the vices and evils that break and divide the families.
The hostel students of the Ashram gave lead to the singing of the Rosary and helped the people to pray. All those who participated in the devotion went in procession with lighted candles.
Fr Alban Rodrigues the administrator and the Fr Roshan D’Souza the asst. director were present on the occasion. The volunteers of St Anthony’s Ashram guided the people during the devotion.
