Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (FMHMC) Observes International Yoga Day 2025
Mangaluru, June 21: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (FMHMC), Deralakatte, observed International Yoga Day 2025 with deep reverence and enthusiasm through active participation in two major events held at Mini Town Hall, Mangaluru, and at the Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) campus.
The district-level celebration was organized by the Dakshina Kannada District Administration and the Department of AYUSH, in collaboration with AYUSH medical colleges and yoga associations, and was held at Kudmal Rangarao Mini Town Hall, Mangaluru. The program began with a solemn prayer and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the presence of dignitaries including:
- Mr. H.V. Darshan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner
- Dr. Mohammed Iqbal, District AYUSH Officer
- Dr. Y Bharath Shetty and Mr. D Vedavyasa Kamath, MLAs
- Captain Brijesh Chowta, MP
Yoga Guru Gopalakrishna Delampady led the session, skillfully guiding participants through various asanas and breathing techniques, reinforcing the message of holistic health and well-being. Representing FMHMC, 26 BHMS students actively participated, embodying the institution’s commitment to AYUSH values and public health.


















Meanwhile, Father Muller Charitable Institutions held an inspiring Yoga Day celebration at its Indoor Stadium, aligning with the global theme: “Yoga for Self and Society – One Earth, One Health.” Over 1,500 students and faculty members from across FMCI units participated, donning coordinated yoga attire and demonstrating unity in health and purpose.
Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI, delivered the presidential address, highlighting yoga as a necessary discipline to achieve balance amidst the chaos of modern life. The event was attended by administrators and principals of all Father Muller institutions.
The session was expertly led by Dr. Nisha C, Yoga Instructor, Department of Yoga and Naturopathy, FMHMC, who demonstrated and led the participants through a series of yogasanas.
A highlight of the program was the live yogasana demonstrations by talented and award-winning students of FMHMC, including:
