Farewell Day Celebrations at St Philomena College (Autonomous)

June 2, 2025

Puttur, June 1, 2025 – St Philomena College, Puttur, recently organized a heartfelt farewell programme for the outgoing undergraduate students of the B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., BBA, and BCA streams at the college’s SJM Hall. The event was marked by a blend of nostalgia, celebration, and gratitude as students, faculty, and management came together to commemorate the culmination of an important chapter in the students’ academic journey.

Each department gave a distinctive touch to the farewell, reflecting their unique spirit and creativity. The BBA department hosted “Caps Off”, the B.A. department presented “The Epilogue”, the BCA students were given a warm send-off with “Au Revoir”, the B.Sc. farewell was titled “Vida-25”, and the B.Com. department celebrated their students with “Elegant Alvida.” These thematic farewells were filled with emotional speeches, cultural performances, and heartfelt messages from faculty and students.

In his presidential address, Principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro stated, “As you step out into the world, keep in mind that if you wish to be remembered, do something beyond the ordinary. You will be known not for the positions you hold, but for the person you become. It is the unique spark in you that leaves a lasting impression. Education without thoughtfulness and scientific spirit becomes useless and soulless. Let your knowledge be purposeful, your journey meaningful, and your legacy inspiring.”

Vice Principal Dr Vijay Kumar Moleyar, in his speech, remarked, “As you move ahead, carry not just your degree, but the values this campus nurtured in you. Let humility guide your success, and let kindness be your strength—because true greatness lies in being good, even when no one is watching.”

The deans, heads of departments, and faculty members congratulated the outgoing students and encouraged them to face the world with confidence, integrity, and a sense of purpose.

The programmes concluded with heartfelt reflections and a shared hope for a bright and fulfilling future for all the graduating students.
