Eid-al-Adha – A Celebration of Faith, Reflection, and Humanity at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, June 11: Lourdes Central School witnessed a meaningful celebration of Eid-al-Adha through a thoughtful presentation by the students of Grade 10, highlighting the universal values of sacrifice, patience, and faith.

The programme commenced with the Universal Prayer and Prayer Song, setting a reverent and reflective tone. This was followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Asr by Farhan (10A), with an English translation by Tabifa (10A), gently reminding the audience of the fleeting nature of time and the significance of righteous living.

A highlight of the assembly was a well-executed skit portraying the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail. The cast featured Simra (10C) as the narrator, Hayyan (10C) as Ibrahim, Arayn (10C) as Ismail, Adnan (10B) as Ibrahim in the dream, and Aiz (10E) as Iblees. Each student performed with sincerity and poise, effectively conveying the depth of the story.

Adding to the spiritual atmosphere, the student choir presented a soulful rendition of “Rahmatun Lil Alameen”, accompanied on the piano by Jacob (8C), which added emotional depth to the occasion.

Principal Rev. Fr. Johnson L Sequeira commended the students and Vice Principal Ms. Anita Thomas for organizing a programme filled with dignity and meaning. He appreciated the efforts taken to reflect the true essence of the festival.

The assembly concluded with the school anthem and was gracefully anchored by Shazil and Iqra of Class 10A.
