Athena Institute of Health Sciences conducts its Annual Sports Meet 2023.
Mangaluru: The Athena Institute of Health Sciences’ annual sports meet 2023 was held on January 19, 2023, at Mangala Stadium in Mangaluru.The inaugural programme was commenced by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song at 8 a.m. with a march past led by the college band, followed by the athletes and all the batches of students of the Athena Institute of Health Sciences.
Mr. R. S. Shettian, Chairman, AIHS, was the chief guest. Dr. Nandini, principal of allied courses, and Rev. Sr. Aileen Mathias, vice principal, Athena Institute of Health Sciences, were present for the programme. Mrs. Viola D’Souza, SNA advisor, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Krida jyothi was done by the athletes of the institutions, and the torch symbolised the spirit of true sportsmanship. Mr. R.S. Sheettian declared the sports meet 2023 open, followed by an oath-taking ceremony. The chief guest wished good luck to the participants and students gathered.
In her speech, Rev. Sr. Deepa Peter, the principal, appeciated the students for their participation. The inaugural programme came to an end with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Priyanka Dsouza, HOD of the Child Health Nursing Department. The students actively participated in all the sports activities. Ms. Martina of 4th year B. SC nursing student compered the programme.
