Anti-Terrorism Day Observed at St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur
Puttur, May 22, 2025: St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, solemnly observed Anti-Terrorism Day, reinforcing its commitment to national integration, peace-building, and the development of socially responsible citizens. The programme was held at the Spandana Auditorium and was jointly organised by the Students’ Council and the Fine Arts Association.
Presiding over the event, Principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro highlighted the critical importance of the day in promoting peace, order, and harmony in society. “The objective of observing Anti-Terrorism Day is to instil values of non-violence and communal harmony,” he remarked. “Students must reject violence in all forms and dedicate themselves to the progress of the nation. Cruelty knows neither caste nor religion. Terrorism can only be eradicated when our collective consciousness is awakened through reason.”



Dr Monteiro also administered the Anti-Terrorism Pledge, calling on students to uphold the ideals of unity and peace, making the observance both meaningful and impactful.
Dr Vijay Kumar Moleyar, Vice Principal of the College, graced the occasion with his esteemed presence. Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, Student Welfare Officer, welcomed the gathering warmly, and the event was seamlessly compered by Mr Prashanth Rai, Director of the Yakshakalakendra.
