Mangalore: Very Rev. Fr Victor Dsouza takes charge as the Chancellor of Mangalore Diocese

Mangalore, November 21: Very Rev. Fr Victor George Dsouza has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the diocese of Mangalore on 21st November 2018 at the Bishop House chapel. He took charge in a short ceremony held at the Bishop’s House chapel presided over by Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha.

Fr Victor George Dsouza hails from Balkunje and was ordained as a Priest in 1986. He served as Assistant Parish Priest at Milagres and Belman Parishes. He then did his Studies in Canon Law at St Paul University Ottawa Canada. He also served as the Professor of Canon law at Peter Pontifical Institute Bangalore, visiting professor at St Joseph's Seminary, Jeppu Mangalore and as the  Judicial Vicar of Mangalore diocese and Served in ecclesiastical tribunal for 20 years. He has edited many books and written articles. He is currently the Editor of Indian theological studies and Studies in Church Law.

He also serves as a Canonical adviser for many dioceses in India and Abroad. He is the Professor and head of Chair in Christianity which he continues at the Pastoral Institute. 
Rev. Fr Henry Sequeira the outgoing chancellor, the diocese for 12 years was present during the occasion.
