Mangalore, 26 September 2018: Msgr. Maxim Noronha has taken charge as the new Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese on 26th September 2018 at the Bishop's House. He was appointed as the new Vicar General on 21st September 2018 by Most Rev. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore.
Fr Maxim, S/o Albert Noronha and Florine Noronha, hails from Pamboor ( Bantakal) Parish in Udupi Diocese. He was ordained on 10 October 1989 for the diocese of Mangalore. He Served as Assistant Priest in Bhalki and Jalasangi (Bidar ), Pangla( Shankarapura) and Bendur Parishes.
In 1994 he was appointed as the Parish Priest of Piusnagar where he served for seven years. Then he was the parish priest at Ferar parish for seven years. In 2008 he was appointed as the Procurator (Financial Administrator) of Mangalore Diocese for five years. In 2013 he was appointed as the Parish Priest of Modankap Parish and Vicar Forane of Bantwal deanery. As a priest for 29 years, he is known for his pastoral experience, administrative skills, simplicity, approachability and friendly nature.
