Kasargod, Aug 24: Thejeshwini Mahasangha, of Badiyadka promoted by Canara organization for Development and Peace (CODP) in collaboration with Caritas India organized a training on Leadership and Gender Sensitization at Badiyadka on Tueday, 22 August.
Mr. Peter Paul D Souza, the project coordinator of CODP inaugurated the programme. The resource person of the programme was Mr. Ravi Kumar Crasta, project Coordinator of CODP.
Ravi Kumar Crasta explained to the participants about the qualities a good leader should process in the SHGs. He also said that there should be change of leadership every year in the SHG to bring about new ideas and better system of working and to promote leadership opportunities.
In gender sensitization, he explained about the equal rights for both men and women in society. This is in par with constitution and human rights. He also spoke about the empowerment of women.
Mrs. Indira, President of Theshwinin Mahasangha and Mrs. Meenakshi, Secretary of Theshwinini Mahasangha, were present on the occasion. Mrs. Indira welcomed the resource person and also other participants attending the programme.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Meenakshi, Secretary of Thejeshwini Mahasangha.
About 65 participants participated.
