117th Foundation Day Celebrations of the Bank of Baroda
Mangaluru: The 117th Foundation Day Celebrations of Bank of Baroda was commemorated by conducting various activities, such as a blood donation camp, in association with the Indian Red Cross. A Walkathon was conducted from the Bank of Baroda, Zonal Office, Dr Ambedkar Circle, Mangaluru, to Bunt’s Hostel, Hampanakatta, and back to the office.
Shri Virendra Mohan Joshi, Sr. Commandant, CISF, Mangaluru International Airport, and Shri Rajesh Khanna, General Manager and Zonal Head, flagged off. Shri Ramesh Kanade, Deputy General Manager, Shri Ashwini Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Shri Rajashekar, Deputy General Manager, Shri Sanil Kumar, Regional Manager, Mangaluru City, officials, and over 300 staff members of Mangaluru participated.
Cultural Program with Yakhshagana, Classical dances, Tiger Dance etc were organized at St. Sebastian’s Centenary Hall, Bendur, Mangaluru, retired staff members, employees, customers, about 800 people had attended;. Prof. P.L. Dharma, Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University, was the Chief Guest of the program. He emphasized the services of the bankers to society and also acclaimed other good initiatives of the Bank of Baroda. Shri Rajesh Khanna, General Manager and Zonal Head, spoke about the legacy, journey, and strengths of the bank and thanked all for their patronage. Shri K.R. Shenoy, Retd. Executive Director of the Bank, also spoke on the occasion.
The bank also made CSR initiatives at old age homes and other locations such as Sanidhya School for Special Children, Mangaluru, Olavanahalli Home for the Needy, neglected, and marginalized, Abhaya Ashram at Assaigoli, and so on. Many other CSR initiatives were carried out across Mangaluru. Environment-friendly initiatives such as sapling distribution and planting of saplings are being envisaged and carried out under the initiative of Green Earth. Many other green initiatives are being envisaged and carried out. The distribution of umbrellas to traffic police, security personnel, and others is being carried out by the bank.
